All the OP did was make an observation, which they are completely entitled to do (and an observation I agree with; I would love to get back into RPing but it’s incredibly difficult to find anyone who writes well and isn’t just in it for porn, which I can create plenty of on my own, thank you). They didn’t say shit about shaming anyone, they didn’t say they thought it was OMG SO HORRIBLE AND WRONG, they just made a fucking observation, that being that an awful lot of RP seems to be based around porn.
I agree that sex scenes can be constructive in a story. I agree that they can help character development and story progression. After all, actual real live people have sex all the time and it forms a part of the relationships they have with other real live people and ultimately that’s what writing well is about, making things believeable.
However, when you literally cannot find anyone to write with because everyone else is purely interested in writing porn and nothing else it can become a little grating. Are people going to shame me because I don’t want to write porn? Am I being told I have to? Don’t be ridiculous.
It’s a difference of fucking opinion.
